Beijing Essen 2017: What You Need to Know

Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting Fair (BEW), one of the top two trade shows in the global welding and cutting industry, is sponsored by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), CMES Welding Institution, China Welding Association (CWA), Welding Equipment Committee of CWA, German Welding Society (DVS) and Messe Essen GmbH.

BEW has successfully been held 20 times, and the scale of it has expanded each time, attracting famous exhibitors such as Lincoln, Panasonic, Golden Bridge, Kaiyuan Group, ABB, and the Beijing Time amongst others. Last year the four-day exhibition brought in 23,439 visitors, hailing from 75 countries and regions, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech, Dutch, Finland, France, Germany, Hongkong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Samoa, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwai, Thailand, UK, USA, Vietnam.

From these 20k+ visitors, more than 35% were interested in welding equipment, close to 20% in welding consumables, and more than 15% in cutting equipment. The conference has a strong influence in the machine manufacturing sector which has seen a lot of change this year. We expect to see an even stronger presence from this sector in the 2017 conference.

BEW holds simultaneous activities, that include more than 20 forums, work meetings, conferences and technical seminars and product releases.

The breakdown of exhibitors by products categories has welding materials at the forefront with 124 exhibitors, and 116 welding accessories in the 2016 Expo. Expect a larger number this year.
